Browse Crofton People Directories

Crofton people directories are spread across county, state, school, civic, property, and library systems because Maryland does not treat the community as an incorporated city. Browse Crofton directories according to the role or time period that matters: public staff and school rosters help with current official contacts, property and estate indexes connect names to recorded roles, and archival collections preserve older family and community ties. No single list covers every Crofton resident. A sound search checks the date, keeper, and purpose of each entry before linking it to a person.

Directory Choices Across Crofton

Crofton people directories are directories of roles, not a master list of residents. County pages identify public staff and appointed members. School pages identify education contacts. State systems index property, deeds, estates, businesses, and licensed occupations. Library and archive collections supply dated names that the current web cannot. The first choice should reflect both the person and the reason the name was recorded.

Use an official staff directory for a work contact, an agency board for a license, or an address-led parcel record for an owner. Older residents call for yearbooks, news, census, church, cemetery, deed, and probate sources. Current white pages are a documented gap, not a substitute for these official Crofton directories.

County Staff Serving Crofton

Crofton has no mayor, city clerk, or municipal staff roster. It is an unincorporated census-designated place, so the useful government people directories belong to Anne Arundel County. The county organizational directory lists departments, divisions, boards, commissions, and related entities. Its live keyword filter returns organizations with descriptions, phones, and emails. It is not a complete employee index.

The Inspections and Permits staff directory is a more detailed example of a department roster.

The captured roster shows why department pages can outperform a broad county listing when the goal is a named public contact. Entries are dated and should be read as current official roles, not as a record of where anyone lives.

Employee nameFull or preferred name shown by the department
PositionOfficial title or functional duty
Official emailWork address when supplied
Direct phoneWork number when supplied
Division contactMain unit number for a missing staff entry

If a name is absent, call the relevant unit. Customer Service and Public Information Requests use 410-222-7790; Code Compliance uses 410-222-7780; Licensing uses 410-222-7788; and the Permit Center uses 410-222-7730. The county contact center is 3-1-1 within Anne Arundel County or 410-222-7000 outside it.

Crofton School Directory Paths

The AACPS staff entry point routes readers toward school and staff pages, but visibility varies by site. Start with the school directory, select the Crofton-area school, and then inspect its own roster. A nearby college directory should not be treated as a list of Crofton residents because it records an institutional tie, not a home address.

Crofton High opened in 2020, so its alumni and yearbook trail is short. Its cluster links include Crofton Middle and Crofton, Crofton Meadows, Crofton Woods, and Nantucket elementary schools. Crofton Middle publishes leadership by role and, for assistant principals, grade assignment. Those fields help distinguish two people with similar names.

Note: School directories publish official roles and contacts; they do not prove that a staff member or student resides in Crofton.

Maryland Officials Directory for Crofton

For state government contacts, the best documented directory is the Maryland Manual Online. It publishes key agency personnel, addresses, phones, emails, organization charts, and budget context. Archived editions also give a dated way to confirm who held an official role in an earlier period. This is more precise than claiming Maryland offers one universal employee finder.

Open the Maryland Manual directory hub to browse its agencies and key personnel.

The agency structure in the captured hub helps place a public contact in the right state unit. For county elected or appointed roles, use Anne Arundel boards, commissions, agendas, and minutes, since those records can add terms and meeting dates that a phone-style directory omits.

Crofton's Civic Directory Substitute

The Crofton Civic Association board roster is the nearest local counterpart to a city-board directory. It is a static list with no filter, export, login, or page controls. Entries give an office or district, a person’s name, and often a committee or liaison duty. Public contact is routed through Town Hall at 410-721-2301 or info@CroftonTownHall.org rather than through private details.

The association divides the Crofton Special Community Benefit District into five districts. Some Crofton Parkway number ranges fall into different districts, so the house number matters when identifying a representative. Candidate declarations are rich dated civic sources, but personal street addresses should not be republished merely because the source displays them.

Crofton Property Role Directories

Several public record indexes act like people directories. MdLandRec lists grantors and grantees in recorded land instruments, while Estate Search indexes decedents and estate parties. The SDAT Real Property Search connects a known parcel to owner names, mailing and premises addresses, values, sales, and a deed reference.

Key limit: SDAT cannot search by owner name, town, neighborhood, subdivision, or ZIP. It accepts an address, account identifier, or map reference.

The county Property Viewer adds parcel shape, districts, zoning, and map context. These directories record distinct roles. A grantor conveyed an interest; a grantee received one; a tax mailing address is not the same as the premises address; and an estate representative is not necessarily an heir. Keep the role and date with every saved name.

The broader Crofton public records overview explains access rules and requests without turning these role indexes into proof of current residence.

Crofton Business and License Directories

Maryland’s Business Entity Search is the main official name directory for corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, and trade names. Search by entity name or Department ID, then inspect status, formation details, principal office, resident agent, and filing history. Most filed documents after August 2001 are commonly available under Amendments.

A resident agent accepts legal process for an entity. That role does not prove ownership or residence. For a person acting in a regulated field, use Maryland occupational and professional licensing or the relevant health board. Attorney, physician, nursing, home-improvement, and real-estate interfaces expose different combinations of name, license number, status, expiration, profile, and discipline.

  • Save the exact license or Department ID.
  • Record the status and date shown.
  • Separate a firm address from a home address.
  • Confirm discipline at the issuing board.

The Greater Crofton Chamber of Commerce lists member organizations and public business contacts. It is opt-in and does not represent every local business owner.

Kuethe's Crofton Name Collections

The Kuethe Library joins Anne Arundel Public Library access with the Ann Arrundell County Historical Society and Anne Arundel Genealogical Society collections.

The collection shown here holds about 4,000 volumes, plus manuscripts, maps, photographs, and surname, cemetery, biographical, and subject files. Nonmembers of the two societies pay $5 per day. Crofton Library provides cards, computers, database help, and interbranch delivery, while specialized research takes place at Kuethe in Glen Burnie.

Phone books remain a gap. No official source provides an itemized run of Crofton white pages or reverse directories. Search the catalog title by title and ask staff about uncataloged or nearby-area volumes.

Historical Directories Behind Crofton

Anne Arundel County formed in 1650, yet Crofton developed as a planned community in the 1960s. That time gap explains why the oldest people directories use county, parish, hundred, tract, road, or nearby settlement names rather than Crofton. County land books begin in 1665, colonial wills begin in 1666, and county testamentary papers follow from 1778.

City directory
A dated resident and business listing, often arranged by surname.
Reverse directory
A street-first or telephone-first list used to identify who was associated with an address.
Finding aid
An archive description that identifies a record series, date span, and access path.
Liber and folio
The book and page reference used to locate a recorded deed.

The old C149 probate card index does not fully match papers that were later rearranged. The Maryland State Archives directs researchers to its on-site electronic index when a card citation fails. That small archival story is a warning for every historical directory: an index points toward evidence, but it is not always the final file.

Yearbooks, school news, church registers, cemetery transcripts, obituaries, and land abstracts can bridge the gap between modern Crofton and older county records. The local branch holds the first Anne Arundel land-abstract volume, covering books from the mid-1600s into the early 1700s; later volumes can be requested from Busch Annapolis for Crofton pickup.

Read Crofton Directory Roles Carefully

Names repeat, addresses change, and directories freeze one moment. Compare initials, maiden or married names, suffixes, spellings, dates, and recorded roles before deciding that two entries describe one person. Crofton's 29,641 residents in the 2020 Census lived within a dense 6.61-square-mile suburban community, so a shared surname or nearby address is weak proof by itself.

Local geography adds another limit. A 21114 mailing identity is not a city boundary, and nearby Gambrills or Odenton place names can appear in institutional and property sources. Crofton High itself uses a Gambrills street address. Preserve the directory keeper, page date, record number, and exact role, then seek a second independent source.

Use Crofton people directories only for lawful personal, family-history, and civic research. Never use a listing to stalk, harass, threaten, or harm anyone.
